A hand snatched hers without warning. Eda jerked.
Kit glared down at her. "Never,” he snapped, "compare yourself to him. You're worth a thousand of that arsehole."
Long fingers curled over hers. His thumb moved against her palm, discovering the creases there.
Kit's gaze dipped to her mouth. It was shocking somehow. Heat pooled low in her belly.

Kit trailed a nail along the desk, scraping. "Your children, however…”
Wolfram put down his glass. "Do not play with me, Kit'rath.”
"Who's playing?l
"I have known you some twenty years. Little we've conversed in that time, but you are no stranger to me. You know my children's names. Knew them in the cradle. How dare you—“
"And I can know them in the grave, if I decide to put them there."
HOTTTT SORRY

KIT LOOKING AT HER AWESTRUCK IN HER NEW PRETTY CLOTHES AWWWWW

“Something low-cut and outrageously lacking in substance?”
“I’d wear it well regardless."
Her confidence was entirely contrived. She wasn't sure Kit knew that, for his pupils bloomed large at once. “No argument there, darling.”
The rumble in his voice sent her heart stuttering. "Keep your perversions to yourself."
"If you keep bossing me around, that shall become impossible.”

“You’re just going to prance into a store?”
LI do not prance." He glanced over his shoulder. "My tail isn't showing, is it?”
"No…”
“Then stop fussing. You cannot go, Evil Mistress of the Fiends, but I'm unlikely to be recognized.”

His bark of laughter was so sudden it made her jump. "You mean vhesak?"
"That one. What does it mean?"
"The most appropriate translation would be 'oh fuck, I suppose."
"And how do you say "fuck you'?"
He seemed enthralled by this line of questioning. "Vhesak’din. Why?"
“I've a feeling I'll make use of it during our acquaintance."

BAELION AND HIS MEAN FRIENDS PINNED KIT DOWN WHEN HE WAS A YOUNGLING AND BROKE HIS HORN OFF NOOOOOOO

Lollll so Baelion is the older brother but Kit was always more powerful with his magic and preferred by everyone so Baelion got jealous and pretended he could do cool things too… what a loser

“Honestly? I suppose I was bored. Then here comes this mad, pretty little thing breaking into my home and demanding a Pact, willing to trade so much…" He shrugged. "I couldn't help myself."
Eda tried not to focus on his calling her pretty.
