This book seems to have a weird obsession with graping women as a plot point. It's dropped so casually in the book so much it is simply becoming too much. While I'm interested in the main character and his lover along with his collection of domesticated wild animals, it is also very hard to not notice how immature the man character sounds in his pov when he is supposed to be centuries wiser
