Jonas has gotten a job that is very honorable in the community but he's scared and nervouse.I like how the author shows his emotions and also the changes that are happening to him.He is the receiver of memories and he will have to learn everything about history. I wouldn't like to get the job Jonas has because I don't think it's fair for one person to have to suffer in oreder for the rest to be happy.

evethough the setting is different to our everyday life jonas is like any other 12 year old.i like how the author gives backgroud of how th book taks place and how things are there. i also like how the author describes how jonas is feeling because i feel as if i were in his place.

this book has a setting totally different to our world.the people there only see black and white and the couples get put together.the dont choose who to be with or have your own kids. you have to adopt them. there are many different jobs in this place that are weired like having children is a job and you dont even get to see them grow up they get sent to other "family units"
