The setting that this book implies is that during the American Revolution, it was a time of wonders. There were many new ideas and people felt as if they could finally express themselves. In this time period almost everything was accepted, since there was no real law system during the American Revolution, however this led to Benjamin Franklin making new inventions and testing new ideas.
