As BigWig is going back to the warren, he is entrapped in a hidden snare set out by humans. He is able to get out and is furious that the other rabbits who lived there knew about them, but said nothing. A rabbit named Strawberry joins them on the journey, and they all set off again, traveling three miles by the next day. They find a rat infested barn to sleep in, and are able to sleep at the top of the barn.

Our group is welcomed into the wrren by a rabbit named Cowslip, and are allowed to stay there to rest. They get friendly with some of the locals, listening to their poetry and songs, and to some of the lore of the folk hero named, "El-ahrairah." In that particular story, El-ahrairah used one of his many tricks to steal lettuces from a great king.

A our characters continue their journey, tensions seem to be beginning to rise. Birds, dogs, and humans are on the loose, cars are a threat, Fiver is getting terrible visions, and nobody can agree on where to go. But, just when they seem to have traveled on such a long and rather treacherous journey, they seem to have found an almost perfect resting spot, another warren full of rabbits.

Even though I've only started this book recently, I am absolutely astounded by the amazing descriptions, lore, backgrounds of the rabbit's society, and the plot ahead of the main character's. Speaking of which, each member of the group are all endearing and charming in their own way. I look forward to the journey ahead of them and all the trouble they may experience on the way.
