I usually tend not to read memoirs about affluent gays as I tend to see most of them as out of touch and totally unrelatable. This is good so far as it makes me think of what life could become when you have the right support systems, almost like a handbook. For a lack of better ways to put it, I think his disability kind of evens out the playing field and makes him not seem so out of touch
