zale is everything............................................. i love the line about them grinning like they ate increasingly bad things ending with innocents or something like that. its so stereotypically attorney but we already spent so much time with them seeing their good side that the attorney side presents more as a respectable skill rather than maliciously sneaky thing and it makes it even more thrilling

My last 3 or 4 reads incl this one have all had an oops dead body twist halfway (quite a bit earlier than 64% for this one but this updt is delayed) lol

Im ngl iirc zale might be the best nb character ive ever read. Id pick ffxiv zero ('written' bc of the short stories they release sometimes) except she gets gendered.. and post patch EW zero sucks (slight redemption at enuo trial patch though)

SHRIEK OF DELIGHT

The easy light premise and unabashed trope of it makes me feel so unburdened and glad.. makes me enthusiastic to write more short bits and bobs. i dont yet see the rich worldbuilding but that might come and tbh i kinda like the focus on the two characters atm
