Antonio and Natasha have problems of their own. Ant found out that Nat was messing around with another guy, Roland. Ant got super mad at her so his mom started yelling at Nat but, Nat's mom came out to talk to Ant's mom. Nat broke up with Ant because she wants a life. she can't wait 9 more years for Ant to come out of jail.

"It wasn't a accident I did it." (Antonio, 49). Writing a letter back to Natasha Antonio confessed to him killing his father. Preparing for the trial Antonio thought of a better way to lie. At another trial Antonio got heated and wanted to hurt the lady asking him the questions. Natasha told Antonio that her grandmother, family, church friends, and school friends go to church and prey for Antonio to be released.

"Will you marry me"? (Antonio) "yessss!!" (Natasha) (31). After expressing their love through letters Antonio decided to take a step in manhood and say those 4 special words to Natasha. It's time for the trial. Natasha is their to support her fiancée. At home Natasha hasn't been living the best. Her mothers boyfriend picks on her. Natasha and her mom go over the new house for Natasha and Antonio. Natasha moves out.

In Upstate by Kalisha Buckhanon I read about the main character, Antonio, and his girlfriend, Natasha, writing back and forth from home to jail. Antonia is now 17. He got arrested because they think he killed his father. Natasha is promising Antonio that she wouldn't say anything about him killing him or not. They sent him to a place in the bronx. Natasha, Antonio's family went to go see him for his 17 birthday.
