The old man training Jonas said that it was his fault that the previous person selected for the Reciever failed. This makes me feel even more scared for Jonas because the man who trained the failed successor is now training Jonas. Basically, Jonas has a more likely chance of failing because his trainer had once failed someone before him. What will happen to Jonas if he fails too?

Jonas is very eager. For example, on page 123, the text states, "'But I just want them!' Jonas said angrily. 'It isn't fair that nothing has a color!" This shows that Jonas is eager because he is so passionate about his assignment and training that becomes angry just speaking about the subject.

I think that Jonas learns many things from his mom, and she acts as his role model. For example, Jonas's mother frequently reminds him of the community rules, how to be respectful, etc. On the other hand, Jonas kind of acts as Asher's "mother", as he is always teaching Asher important things that he learns from his mom, like correct word choice and following rules. Basically, Jonas is very similar to his mother.

This book is really good so far, but I haven't yet learned about what happens to Jonas in December. Why is December so important? Once I learn why December is so important, I will know why Jonas and most of the other Elevens have been so anxious and apprehensive. All I know is that the event in December is called the Ceremony of Twelve.
