Ned's campaign in the Pacific has picked its pace up. The Golden Gem that I chose says "Fate is on our side. The first landings had gone almost unopposed." I chose this because it signifies the turning point of the war. For once the Japanese didn't put up a fight while the Marines invaded the beach. This shows how the war in the Pacific is now one sided and it is just a matter of time before it all ends.

I began loosing interest in the book until Ned started talking about Japan. He compares them to the Navajo and speaks highly of them. This is prior to ww2. Ipredict that Ned might refuse to help the US later in the war. However, he might eventually join the military. he talks about how the Japs are invading nations just like the US invaded the Navajo. If i were in Ned, i would be listen to my parents.

Im am enjoying this book, but I find it controversial. It is told by a boys perspective, and I notice that the characters are navajo and they seem to be pretty old school. They don't use and thing electrical. Before the boy leaves to go to a boarding school, his family reminds him about he time where the US kicks the natives out of the land. He is taken to a native american school like a boot camp. Its pretty good.
