I actually like Rose Mary's philosophy on self-sufficiency. There's a lot of truth in it.

I love how Rex shared his fascination with the universe with his children. Having someone like him who could tell you stories about the stars and space must have been such a beautiful thing. It also made me think of my own favorite star—Betelgeuse. l've always loved its reddish-orange glow and how it stands out from the rest.

Jeannette Walls tells her story in such a smooth and natural way. Her prose flows effortlessly, and every scene is easy to visualize and absorb.
