Ugh, just get together already.

I've been liking this book so far, even with it's faults. The hurried marriage in the corner seems lame (so does the fact that even though it's kinda fake, it's also real enough to require an official annulment even though they weren't married in front of witnesses/clergy).

Also, why is there a dowager sultan? The line is matrilineal. Unless the dowager married into the royal family. But it's not clear...

I'm not sure how much longer I'll last in this book. So tedious. I'm 1/4 of the way through, and the plot has barely advanced.
