The narrator (Alice) is telling the story of her life while also telling some of the story of another woman’s life (Ruby) and you know from the start that alice is going to be murdered. The chapters are only labeled by number. Sometimes she is talking about ruby and sometimes she is talking about herself and it took me a while to figure out this format but now that I’ve got it, I am hooked!
