I will never look at an onion the same way again.

"God LIKES onions, therefore they are. The fit, colors, smell, tensions, tastes, textures, lines, shapes are a response, not to some forgotten decree that there may as well be onions as turnips, but to His present delight - His intimate and immediate joy in all you've seen, and in the thousand other wonders you don't even suspect."

"There, then, is the role of the amateur: to look the world back to grace."

"I like food. As a child, I disliked fish, eggs, and oatmeal, but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

Jamie Moon I still don’t understand how I haven’t finished this book lol. It’s like a rich meal that fills me up so much I forget to come back for more.

Sarah Abbey That makes sense 2 chapters in. It's a book to savor and not to rush through, like a rich meal.
