Really interesting so far, a nice bridge between the Greek and Roman schools of thought (Cicero adds a definite Roman twist of duty to the state above all else)

The fact that these were letters sent to his Son just months before his own assassination gives it a more intimate, personal tone. Is he disappointed in his son’s boozing lifestyle, or does he know something’s coming for him? Food for thought.
