I’ve now read his output from his start in ~1587 through ~1596, around 1/3 of his total works so far. (Not trying to do what English scholars liked to do with Cervantes by saying that) his genius so far has come across like an accident, but it really surprised me how early stuff like Richard III and Romeo & Juliet were written. He really tapped into something there that I think he was afraid to go back to for a bit
