After The Race:
“Rapid motion through space elates one; so does notoriety; so does the possession of money”
This short story took an interesting turn from the previous ones in exploring the influence of the sociocultural factors on the perception and behaviour of certain individuals in a multicultural social setting.

Two Gallants:
Once more I have a bit of an issue with the title.
This short story has a vivid imagery that serves as the perfect metaphor of the inner state of these two characters as they wander through life with no real purpose or intention to experience anything real.

Eveline:
A haunting story about people who are doomed from the very start :(
Being Nostalgic with an urge to escape and stuck in an endless cycle of dysfunctional environment and despair will do no good for anyone.

An encounter:
Disturbing and dark -coming of age- story.
The narrator’s -a young boy- longing for an adventure to escape his mundane life turned out to be his first real life encounter with the horrors of the world.

The sisters:
Joyce’s writing style is -in some way- interesting.
This short story gives a glimpse into the lives of a few people and end like that, with no further details leaving the reader wondering about every single thing in it. Even the title is somewhat vague, I still don’t understand why did he choose this title for this story!
*The narrator’s dreams kinda gave me “Demian” vibes.
