chapter 32 and I'm not joking, I'd been staring at the wall for three minutes straight because I mean we knew what happened BUT I DEFINITELY DIDN'T THOUGHT IT WAS REAL LIKE I THOUGHT THEY WOULD'VE FOUND A WAY I WAS NOT PREPARED

chap 20-25 spoilers!
loved the fight scene and also when lan "approved" hilo's wedding. I feel like we didn't know lan well since last two chapters, like we get his character for granted, but honestly I'm loving knowing more about him

chapter 10 spoilers alert!!

we've finally met the main villain (I think?), and they're being a little too nice to anden. in my experience as a fantasy reader, the villains who seem kind at first are always the worst

the funny thing about this book is that when you finally think that you're understanding what's happening and who are the main characters, suddenly new stories appear and new characters.
for example WHO ARE ARDEN AND TON???

Chapter 5
I enjoyed the scene with Wen and Hilo: it allowed us to get to know Hilo’s character better, especially in terms of how he differs from Lan.
I’m still quite confused, but I’m starting to put the pieces together

Chapters 4
I really liked the scene with the grandfather (?): it gives us a better understanding of the clan’s structure and hierarchy, as well as Lan and Hilo's family dynamics. The grandfather was a very interesting character to get to know. Lan, on the other hand, is a character I can really relate to.
