Emilia is a clever writer who cut her teeth writing dime novels under a pseudonym under the doting tutelage of her father-in-law and the watchful and reproachful but loving auspice of her mother. We are just now headed to the civil war brewing in Chile.

Reading a book in a familiar world, our world, even if over a hundred years ago, is nice.
