damn lol this is a long book

still good but quite dense!

Part 2 down. I’m again surprised at the nuance and various perspectives Tolstoy is able to articulate in so many small scenes and situations. From Vronky’s disastrous horse race to the more light hearted but thematically potent episode at the European Spa, we’re examining the tension between the internal world of humans and the outside circumstances they are stuck in

Finished Part 1. So far I am enjoying living in the world of this book, consuming a small intentional amount each day. There's so much that has already been said about this book and I look forward to diving into the analysis.

What strikes me most is how attractive and alluring Anna is as a character in only a handful of scenes. As the central figurehead of the novel this is expected, but its still impressive.
