Different times in Arabian Africa in the 1960's and back during colonial times. As common in arabian literature, there's a narrator who is not the main character. This is Mustafa Said. A genius, a narcissist, a womanizer, a murderer who came back to Sudan after living more than 30 years abroad, mostly in England. The contact between cultures doesn't end well in this story.
