i think i’m only pushing through to not have another dnf this year. the romance feels very forced—the characters’ emotional reactions to each other are too dependent on a “shared past” in which had they had no real close bond or relationship of any kind. just beeing beautiful and a helpful person at the right time does not warrant affection. the plot is moving but there is no real sense of anticipation

i love katherine arden and i am enjoying this but i need both the characters and the plot to start doing More at this point
