… I truly don’t mind violence but it definitely feels like the mmc keeps getting bombarded And severely injured… is he supposed to die because this is feeling slightly excessive for only 64% through the book

I am being very very slow right now! I'm loving this book and how different it is. We have an insecure almost knight, a deaf badass mer-ish fmc and lots of action.
I've been having a hard time reading digital/physical lately. I've read lots but it's mostly been audio because it's been easier for me.

I'm slowly making my way through. The forged connection between our mmc and fmc has come on a little quickly for me but I like the characters so far. Still trying to get a better sense of the world and what's happening

Ooo Ok. I was a little thrown with the narrator being a man (not sure why I thought the narrator would be female). He's having a rough time because he failed at his Knight challenge. I think he's going to have an incredible character arc based on his tude and interactions with the newly introduced fmc. I love that she's Yvri (dragon born mermaid based on my comprehension so far) and she's deaf (so underrepresented!)
