I have just finished what is my favorite chapter so far.
This book. There are beautiful parts which make me cry, and parts where the writing is vile and crass and sounds more like the culture than the author.
However. The ending of chapter six was lovely and I want to sit with it for a bit.

This is such a strange book to read.
In parts it is genuinely lovely and thought provoking. I absolutely love a good conversation about art, and art-making, and storytelling.
And then, just when I’m reflecting on how lovely it is, there will be a crass little tidbit thrown in, reminiscent of his dad, which doesn’t really throw me except to make me sad for him.
I might read his fiction, though.
