I just learned Shakespeare's Hamlet is literally a modernisation of this other story in which the main character is 'Amleth' 🤦♀️
Shakespeare is already an adaptation. Any other adaptation of Hamlet would be a double adaptation then. lol

The introduction is interesting, it shows that the play is full of contradictions, maybe Shakespeare wanted it to seem thoughtful and philosophical?Watts says that Jones said that Hamlet might've had the Freudian 'Oedipus complex' so he thinks that Hamlet might've been unconsciously into his mom. Claudius murdering his dad and marrying his mom seemed relatable to Hamlet.That's why he hesitated to kill Claudius. Crazy
