Getting through this book is so hard. I’m at a point in the book where I suddenly really enjoy the prose, but it falls into these long-winded descriptions and internal dialogue detailings that, for the most part, I’m just not that interested in continuously beating.
So far this book has been feeling like a collection of shorter novels, and, frankly, might have served better as being just that.

The beginning came in so strong, but the development of the characters, especially the Ukrainian friend, was lackluster. I also cannot stand the description of drug usage here. I don’t want to read prose describing an acid trip or getting really really really high on potenuse. Just say that they did it omg. Anyways I’m still reading it so there’s something there I guess. We’ll see 🤷🏾♀️
