The detail Tolstoy puts into the minutiae of battle is becoming a little tiresome now. The details of how history will see this, the political forces behind that and planning of everything doesn't feel necessary all the time.

Really pleased with how ouch I read of this today! It's a really easy and enjoyable read, but I struggle to pick it up when I know I'm tired or grouchy or don't have the ability to give it my full attention.
