Oh how I wish I could see how Irish public would have reacted to People of the Marsh. I mean, the marsh, revolutionary upheaval and violence, dirt-poor, oppressed, and yet proud people coming at each other's throats for human decency and land, both for them being the same thing. But no one would translate the novel from Belarusian and the play and the theatre and any opportunity to bring them to Ireland are long gone
