Phenomenal. This should be winning all those awards. You know, all of 'em. Then people might read it. More than like, 4 people might read it, if it won all the awards this awards season.

Wait what? An entire day with no plans except reading? First time in I don't know how long... Think I'll spend it trying to get through as much of this as possible - this book, by the way, is inventorying an entire world - no small task and it's doing it well.

Slow pace, accretion of detail, prominence of objects and surroundings, carefully described exteriors and interiors, adolescent sensory overload well-conveyed - all around lovely so far. I'm a sucker for these 400-Blows-esque coming of age stories ...
