Poppy goes to therapy to figure out why she is in a funk with life, work, and of course Alex. She learns that she runs away from all the troubles. She can’t keep running away. She goes back home and finds Alex. Tells him that she wants him and she will give up anything to be with him. He doesn’t want her to have to give up anything. He wants them just to work. To make sense being together but they don’t.

Two summers ago: Croatia. The photographer they traveled with for R & R is older and stays with them the entire trip. The last day they get drunk. The old guy passed out and they finally have time together. Alex kisses Poppy. Things get heated but he stops and apologizes. Trey and Poppy broke up and Alex and Sarah did the same. They are single but he freaks out that he ruined their friendship. 2 years silence after.

This summer. David’s wedding goes well. Poppy and Alex have a good time. They wake up late the next morning and have to dash to the airport. While saying goodbye Poppy clears the air about R & R not sponsoring their vacation. When Poppy tries to explain she makes it sound like this vacation was a break from her real life. Alex gets upset. Says he would do anything for her but she needs to figure out what she wants

Three summers ago they went to Tuscany on a couples trip! Alex and Sarah, and Poppy and Trey. Trey and Poppy seem pretty serious. He likes her family. Trey is a photographer for R & R. Overall they had a good trip other than Poppy thinking she was pregnant! Alex caught her taking a test. It was negative. They never talked about what happened again.

Alex and Poppy are intimate. Nikolai comes and tells them the AC for the entire wing of the apartments isn’t working and refunds them for the entire three days. They go find a hotel. Alex isn’t talking about what happened and falls asleep. Poppy sleeps in the other bed.

Four summers ago they were supposed to go to Sweden but Poppy got really sick. She told Alex to go and she would meet up but he came to New York instead and took care of her. Poppy had pneumonia!

Alex & Poppy try to go to the pool when they get back to the apartment after a long day of everything going badly. The pool is empty! Had to be drained. The air isn’t working in the room! Alex loses it! Poppy says this isn’t how things are supposed to go. They should be how they used to be but Alex yells that things have changed. Poppy says she doesn’t want to lose him. Alex raps her up and they kiss!

Five summers ago: Sanibel Island. Alex is so depressed because Sarah broke up with him cause he is boring. Poppy tries to cheer him up but it’s not really working. While on that trip, Poppy for the first time feels that she is in love with Alex. The rain poured so hard Alex asked to go somewhere cold next trip.

Palm Springs is so hot and Alex isn’t feeling well. Poppy is so upset and is trying so hard to make it a great day. After the zoo they went to a dinosaur museum that was awful. Then in their way back to the apartment, they got a flat tire. Things are still not going well.

Vail trip: Alex calls Sarah twice a day but doesn’t talk in front of Poppy. They are having a great time. They connect with Lita from their trip to Canada at Buck’s place. She lives in Vail now and is a river rafting guide. They go on a beginner’s guide with her. On the second to last day while hiking Poppy rolls her ankle and Alex carries her down the mountain! Why don’t these characters say how they feel!
