Once I worried I was taking to long to read, but it has really sunk in that every chapter is a a self sufficient essay which yet also fits into the warp and woof of the character arcs and a persistent theme of a superabundance of ideas which overwhelmed the upper class in those amazing yet sclerotic final years of the Austro-Hungarian empire, such that, as the title to part II proclaims: Pseudoreality Prevails.
