I am on the first chapter of the book, Go Ask Alice. Although I have not read very much, I know that the author is displaying the message that "After you've had it, there isn't even life without drugs." Alice's diary was made public for the purpose of to encouraging adolescents to stay away from drugs. I was aware, even in the first chapter of the book, that drugs have overpowered Alice's life.
