I watched the new movie and decided to finally read the book again, in the original language. Controversially, I actually think the film captures the tone of the book really well. I’m not really following the criticism of whitewashing either, Heathcliff is repeatedly called a “gypsy” and I can see the actor easily passing as Roma. Anyway, really enjoying the antics of these toxic drama queens.
