So far this a very slow burn as I reach chapter six. Suspenseful? Maybe a yes in the weaker sense of not knowing what to expect yet. While Wendy is afraid of every tapping, whisper, and cold wind, I sit here wondering when the real horror will appear.

Nearly a third into the book, I would hope terror is a few pages away.
