You want to really hate snow and I do very much and I'm only 4 chapters in but he's a very complicated character because he had some capacity for compassion and empathy for others and understanding of suffering because of the snow families hardships during the war but his obsession with power and sucess and other people's opinions are what ultimately probably led him astray in the end.
