Notes:
(1) Contrary to common perception, I'm not reading this now because of the new "Supergirl" film.
- It just happens I recently read "Helen of Wyndhorn" and feel like reading more Bilquis Evely—Tom King I can take or leave.
(2) I'm still back reading Rebirth, and wouldn't usually jump to Infinite Frontier, but I've been reliably informed that this is firmly standalone.

Notes:
(1) Supergirl's totally incapacitated—weakened and delirious if most-of-the-time unconscious.
- Which, while a welcome break from all the depression and general misery, means we're stuck with just Ruthye and her maddening, overcomplicated, old-timey inner monologue.
- Though, I must say, fitting for a story all about enduring pain, waiting for unpleasantness to pass.

Notes:
(1) Where's the fun drunk Supergirl from the first issue? She was actually interesting!
- Ever since, she's been a morose, milquetoast do-gooder.
(2) WTF? Is this whole series just going to be: visit a new planet, witness horrors, get depressed, repeat?
- I mean... help dig hundreds of graves, be a literal punching bag, watch snuff films, attend a public execution...

Notes:
(1) I don't know what the point is of this whole Maypole episode, except to deliberately depress people.
- Supergirl discovers an idyllic town has a dark secret... that's it, end of story.
(2) I've said it before, but if Tom King ever writes a story NOT about loneliness and depression, I'll be there for it.
- In the meantime, loneliness and depression is what we get.

Notes:
(1) The ending bit about Krypto was almost enough for me to forget how tediously slow the rest of it was... almost.
- We have an entire issue of Ruthye singing Supergirl's praises, in her wretchedly wordy way, as they travel coach and make pit stops at space terminals.
- There's a whole sequence where Supergirl teaches the bumpkin medieval girl how to wash her hands.

Notes:
(1) I hate this narrator! Not necessarily her character (yet), but how she speaks in a super-verbose, faux-medieval fantasy, "Game of Thrones" prose—it's an absolute slog!
(2) I like that Ruthye assumes Supergirl's outfit is some kind of underwear.
- If intentional, it's an oblique reference to what's often said about Superman: that he wears underwear on the outside.
