I really liked the first third of the book. The writing is excellent. But now I’m in the middle section where every other paragraph is the description of a rape and murder of a woman (that is the premise of the book so I did know it going in but I did not expect to have the author drive the point home so relentlessly). So I’m tempted to stop reading and just read the cliff notes.
