Briar left the funeral early so that she could get home before whatever person was meeting at the U-boat got there. Then as she got home she went straight to gram room in the closet where she had the radio it was missing. She thought Peter took it he said he did not and then she kinda freaked out a little. When she saw him flashing a light in the window, she thought he was giving signs to the U-boat.

The coast guards were there because tom was dead he happened to be one of the two rangers that got killed. But they did not have a body and the coast guard people did not show a lot of sympathy for the family. Briar kept fighting with them that they did not know for sure that he was dead because there was no body.Then Peter came downstairs after they left told them he was sorry for there lost then he said something.

Mrs.D dropped Mari off on dirt road. She had dropped her off to go to the bonfire. She had fun with Roman, but Mari was dying to know what happens next on how her mother and her fall into this story. The house that Mrs.D lived in was trying to get sold. Somebody wanted to put a development there and the only way she could keep it if she was family, which she was not.

Major Gil came and picked up Kadence from the hospital on the way back to the cottage. Kadence wanted to ask him if he wanted to go for a swim, but she was too nervous. He asked himself for her. They went swimming, but as he was changing, she went back to go get her shorts and she saw him shirtless and everything. He didn’t see her though then when they got down to the pond, they started talking.

Kadence was on the way to the hospital, she stopped by the post office to get her paper turned in, but as she was walking Lydia Bess’s mom call her and told her if you don’t get her home I will ruin your career. I’ll ruin everything for you. She threatened her that she only had 24 hours to get her home. Also Kadence had lost her job at the beach club because the guy owned it shipped out.

Major Gilbert walked away after his team won. He went towards his office. He took a phone call and in the phone call he said I know it’s in three days. I leave my guys they’ll be OK and then he hung up. Briar had followed him the whole way to his office then she followed him all the way back to the field and she realized Gram had passed out. if it wasn’t for Peter’s cocktails, Graham wouldn’t have lived.

Kadence stayed on the yacht overnight. She slept in a little bit best was shaking your arm telling her that Peter was gone. He had to go to the soccer game major Gilbert. He came and got him that morning. They headed to the soccer game and when they got there, Peter almost couldn’t get in because he didn’t have ID but he let him go by because I really needed him in the game.

Briar kept following major Gilbert around town. He didn’t do anything until he went to a jewelry store bought the most expensive necklace in there. Then met with the woman later on and all they did was fight nonstop. then he went to the post office and got an envelope that was from a ranger over in katama. Then as she was following him one of her coworkers showed up and scared her. It was Jerry whitcomb.

Winnie pulled cadence aside after the dinner and told her she had job position for you. The pay was good but the catch was that she had to start as soon as possible. She needed to come back manhattan with them tonight. She told Winnie no because of gram and Bess. Winnie said that is ok I will keep looking for you and just know if I go into the work force you are coming to.
