I’m loving this. It is so much easier to picture the scenes now that they are in the mortal world again.
Something I was thinking about was how in all of the books in this universe, Acaeja has had an appearance/helping hand. I’m wondering if she is trying to stage a take over since she could have the favor of the White Pantheon and the vampires.
I’m keeping my eye on her.

Asar is conflicted byRyvenhal a home of shadows&bad memories Gideon is interested byMische Asar gets straight to the point asking how to find the essences Gideon says the crown/mask is in the walls of the old palace ofVathysia &the eye is inDeadlands@theHouseofBlood Asar later goes toGideon alone&uses his pwrs to extract the key from him on what glyphs needed to get the mask Asar&Mische play a nasty tune on the piano

Asar notices the moon is red which marks the Melume a special time for House of Shadow that allows them to connect w Alarus’ old kingdom’s magic&strengthen their own This is the chance to find the mask He meets w his sis&convinces her to let him go to Ryvenhaal to see his old mentor He thinks thatGideon will know how to get the mask Nyaxia called upon House of Shadow&Blood but not Night bc Raihn&Oraya book ending

“So, Wife, huh? You can always keep things interesting. Was the wedding nice?”
A twitch at the corner of his mouth.“It was elegant & tasteful.”
“Sounds like a nice way of saying boring.”
“Fine. It was gaudy chaos.”
“Much better. Did I get to wear a nice dress, at least?”
The smile he’d been holding back now bloomed over his lips like a flower in melting frost. “Oh, you were breathtaking.”

As a boyAsar was taken to find what made him special=he ressurected Luce Asar&Mische wake inMorthryn BUT they cannot touch each other skin to skin since she’s a wraith&transparent&burns/drains him They see eternal night for the 1st time Soliders come in&capture them They are brought to his sister Mische mind speaks toAsar&they give the court a performance that shows his pwrs&gains them safety He steps down as heir

Okay the 3 cores of Alarus’ powers that they have to find in order for Asar to become a god & save the underworld are:
- his mask
- his eye
- his heart

(I’m guessing they are spread out btw the 3 houses in Obitraes bc the land was Alarus’ before Nyaxia created the vampires)

Mische didn’t fully complete the resurrection spell she performed to get Asar back so it connects her with him & gives her a chance to resurrect herself too
If they can finish the spell & collect the 3 cores of Alarus’ power, Asar can ascend to divinity and save Mische & the Underworld
Asar choses this path over becoming the Shadowborne king/Mische’s death & Acaeja puts him on a path to find Mische
