Actually weeping, I don’t think I’ve cried this much for a book ever- though to be fair I hardly read sad stories but still. This entire book has been so bittersweet and its ending is so tragic and heartbreaking. “He made me the happiest cat on earth.”

Finished the epilogue- man oh man is this story bittersweet. Seeing all the friends connect over the Nana situation, sharing their stories of Satoru really pulls on the heartstrings. What a beautiful story, the ending really is something special with its telling on life as a whole. Amazing story- would not read again haha. “he wanted to take your smiles with him.”

Wasn’t expecting the twist of Satoru being adopted- but the way he viewed that news, turning it into something positive was really heartwarming- alongside his Aunts realisation that she hadn’t failed in her duty to raise him. This story is so bittersweet.

Yeah just as I expected, going to have to hold back my tears for the remainder of this portion- this book as so heartfelt and powerful. I really like how Noriko is portrayed as well, with her fixation on the emails or even just her tone of voice, it really adds to the entire tragic situation.

That was a super sweet bonding chapter- added to both Nana and Satoru’s character, though it also was masked in a sense of bitter sweetness, like something bad will happen I guess. Obviously the journey is supposedly coming to an end at this point but still, though such a happy chapter it gave the feeling of sadness throughout.

That was quite the chapter- I still really like how developed each character is- the confession from Satoru at the end made me worried though. It might have been out of kindness to try and prove to Sugi that Chikako did love him as Sugi was obviously worried about that. It may also be a final confession type thing though and that makes me scared. “How can you be such a good person when you’ve been so unlucky?”

I haven’t finished this chapter yet but there’s so much going on- I really like the exploration into just the human experience with Sugi and his jealousy/awareness of his mean behaviour alongside his desire to be as nice as Satoru, questioning how Satoru is the way he is despite his unfortunate life. It really is a chapter of self-reflection and I really like that.

Forgot to update yesterday I think? but finished the second friend storyline- once more this entire book feels like understanding human emotions or something idk how to describe it but each story seems to have a twist? Of sorts that kind of leaves you like- wow that was powerful. Idk- still worried about the fact that we don’t know why Satoru is giving up Nana, scared to find out

I’m really enjoying this book- I like how each chapter is a different story in a sense yet adds to the overarching narrative. I do wonder why Satoru is looking to give away Nana though- scared it’ll be for a sad reason but I’m hoping for a happy ending. I think there’s like 3 more friend visits? (Looking at chapters) so exited to see what’s next

That was a pretty sad chapter- bittersweet ending too it as well. I’ve caught onto the trend of what the story is (going from friend to friend and hearing each story) usually not a fan of stuff like this but I am enjoying the multiple narrative perspectives and how they all add to the main character (that’s not Nana) though sad I do like the humanity that comes with the story thus far- curious to see whats next
