I would have been in awe of Johnson. I know he would have seen me as a bloke who was there to clean the toilets, yet there is something about Boswell's portrayal of him that makes me wonder to what extent people put up with him. I feel if I had told him that the weather was inclement he would have said, "No, sir, weather is an element and has no rationality. It cannot decide on clemency or its reverse." What an arse.
