This book is breaking my heart....
I still don't know all details of what happened to Jude, but it's clear his past taught him mistakes lead to punishment and betrayal.
The broken mug scene with Harold is devastating - not because of the mug, but because Jude can't believe kindness can be real. Watching him struggle to trust people who genuinely care for him is painful and beautiful at the same time.
