I gave the 1st book in this series one star but the ratings for the other books are better than the first book, and I was looking for a short read to help give me motivation to get through some of these longer books I have coming up on my tbr/get me out of my slight reading slump! Yeah -- I see where this is going already. From the first 15 pages I was like "oh here we go 🙄" ... this is so corny already but lets see how it plays out. Though I have my suspicions.
