Rick waited for the WPO representative on the roof of Polokov's apartment. Kadalyi arrived in a hovercar taxi. He extended his hand and greeted Rick. The Russian opened the car door and sat beside Rick. For reasons unknown, Rick learned that the android Polokov was disguised as Kadalyi. In a flash, he fired his old-style pistol from its shoulder holster, and the android's head burst open.

Reading DADoES - Chapter 8
Rick came back to the Hall of Justice on Lombard Street from his trip. He received information regarding the first andy he was going to retire. Polokov, an android that was pretending to be an anthead, was working as a trash collector. Rick went to his workplace and found out he hadn't shown up for work. Having a hunch it was already too late. He confirmed it at Polokov's empty apartment.

Miraculously, Isidore handled the vidcall pretty well. Mrs Pilsen was heartbroken upon hearing the news. But she recovered a moment later. She accepted Isidore's proposal, which was to get an electric replica of Horace to replace it. She didn't want her husband or son(?) to know that their cat was dead. Sloat intended to give Isidore the subsequent tasks. Isidore seemed elated.

The corpse of the cat arrived at Hannibal Sloat's Office. Isdore's boss, Hannibal Sloat, examined the dead cat. He cursed, a string of abuse lasting a full minute, directed at Isidore. It turned out the cat was real. Not a fake animal. Isidore knew he fucked up and started explaining stammeringly. Sloat told Isdore to explain that to the client directly via vidphone.

Isdore climbed the darkened stairs back to his apartment. He donned his white work uniform and headed to work on his battered hovercar. An hour later, he picked up a malfunctioning cat from a customer. It panted erratically and was dying. Isodre tried to soothe its pain. But either the control panel or battery cables could be found on the cat. He gave up, and it ceased its panting.

Isodore told her he could help her move furniture from the other apartments after work because the ones in her apartment were all rotted away. She accepted his help. Her name was Rachael Rosen at first, but she changed it to Pris Stratton after Isodore's astonishment.

Rick was snared by the trap set up by the two Rosens. He knew he fucked it up. They tried to blackmail him using the owl as the carrot and his mistake as a stick. Before they left the room so he could consider his decision, Dick asked her for one last test. It was a decisive proof that she was an android. After Eldon heard his answer, he slumped to the floor, confirming the answer.
