Setting aside the Branny context of the line, I loved the Edgar suit reference. Even if it makes them HIGHLY millennial Gen Z-ers.

Man, how hard must it be for an author to effectively write characters from a generation later than them without making them have "old fashioned interests"?

Okay, I've officially gotten to the giggling and kicking my feet part of the book, and of course I love it. 😁

Yeah, of the 18 books I have recorded as finished, the numerous others I've sampled, and maybe even all the fanfic I've read, this is hands down the hottest book I've ever read or listened to, both in narration and actual text.

And posts like this are why I created a Goodreads alt. ^^;

Except for the rosemary bit (which I love), I completely agree with Avi.

God, the comparisons pile up.

I've been hanging onto this idea for a whike now, but the degree to which it's niggling at me has reached a critical mass. As someone who's had steosiblings enter my life both at something like 4 years old, and as a grown ass adult, I kind of find the obsession with stepsiblings on its own sake to be... Petty? Like, there isn't nearly enough context there for it to be taboo. And steps at 17? Not really taboo to me.

Why do I feel like Nyla doesn't actually know what a power bottom is? Because nothing in the scenes I've listened to (including in listening ahead) seem to imply this to me. It's like she just means... A bottom who has bottom super powers or something?

Currently on chapter 17, but my impatient ass has listened ahead as far as the beginning of chapter 24. Doesn't help that I got really sucked in once the drama started.

Yup. And there it is. The Brandon King of it all that I've been waiting for (not that there weren't enough breadcrumbs). Of course, no idea yet if Nyla K will go full Rina Kent on this trajectory. (I mean, presumably not full Niko/Landon + Kyle, since that's a different genre).
