the narration is just so roundabout, twisty, and wordy. i want to dnf and i think i will. it’s so hard to read, since it is much too flowery and literary for history. it reads like a thesis instead of a biography, except schiff is going to have a hard time defending this to the committee (my critical eye).

such a winding way of writing, it makes it so frustrating bc i have no idea what she means sometimes. easy to follow the writing style but not the history.
