The prose is absolutely perfect. It conveys intricate character motivations with a graceful and empathetic tone. Wecker's pacing and sentence structure reminds of Susanna Clarke. She reveals the depth and detail of 1899 New York City in a wonderful manner. Along with the mythology and folklore of Judaism and Islam...so cool.
