If this is the 'bad, boring part' I am in for a treat. Maybe just perfect timing in my life to be reading this but holy cow this is sucking me in.

I was hesitant to start this as a number of reviewers I really trust and tend to line up with taste wise were less than enthusiastic about it; citing a glacial pace and overly wordy and flowery. I can understand where they are coming from but... I'm just loving it. It's been awhile since I've read a farmboy to king style high epic fantasy and, so far, this book is just filling my cup. Loving living in the world.

I have been enjoying my foray into lit fiction and have found several 5-star reads and all-time favourites but... I recently played a new board game for Lord of the Rings (Fate of the Fellowship) and swords, sorcery, and fantasy are calling my name. This has been on my TBR for a decade and... it is time to step into the world of Osten Ard. Really, really looking forward to some slow burn fantasy!
