The Christmas Shopping chapter was quite funny and mortifying.

The Guy Fawkes story was quite funny. Felt like something one of my kids would try to do.

If I'm being honest, I'm not paying as close attention to this read aloud as I ought to. It is good, and cute, and funny. But it is less engaging than the Hobbit or others we have read.

My daughter has really taken a liking to Paddington. So we are about to start the second novel as a read aloud.
