Leviticus: It’s easily the most boring book so far, but it’s really interesting to guess where some of these rules come from. There’s a spiritual “uncleanliness” that clearly ties to the real importance of hygiene that we better understand now. People remember this for the homophobia but a lot of it is moreso focused on things like “wash your hands before eating” and “cook your meat thoroughly.”

First half of Exodus is so awesome and then you have to read pages and pages of God describing how to build a tabernacle and how to properly punish your slaves
